Rob wrote a series of films for The Chatham Placemaking Project, a £4m government regeneration project. As part of the project, 100 of Rob’s poems were built into the pavements of Kent. Completed 2019.

Rob’s film, Miranda, starred Christina Ricci and John Hurt. It premiered at Sundance and won the Audience Award (Main Prize) at London’s Raindance Film Festival.

Rob was commissioned to write the first online drama for the RSC and Google+ The project appeared on 25 million tweets, trended 4th in the world and won two Lovie Awards (Internet Oscars).

Rob was commissioned by Opera North and the Southbank Centre to reduce 15 hours of Wagner’s Ring Cycle into six and a half minutes of animation.

In 2019, Buxton Museum & Art Gallery commissioned Rob to bring one of their objects to life. He chose a mermaid artefact made from fish skin and human hair. In this short film, by Jimmy Hyland, Rob talks about the festival he created.

Rob’s adaptation of Hemingway’s Pulitzer Prize winning novella, The Old Man and the Sea, won the Award for Artistic Excellence at England’s biggest arts festival.

Rob Young and Tim Sutton were commissioned to design 2 trophies for the Cultural Olympiad.
